At the bottom of this post are plans of the Chediak house which will be built on Evelyn Shea's old lot. We all really miss seeing Evelyn's beach house (pictured here) perched on the dune and snuggled in the tropical foliage. Evelyn would cry if she saw what was happening to her beloved Summerplace.
When we purchased property in Summerplace, we were "interviewed" by the neighbors in Evelyn's home. They were a friendly group but they were very clear about what this neighborhood was about. Until just recently, Summerplace owners were respectful of their neighbors and sensitive to the character of the community.
How then, after nearly 50 years of being one of the coolest, laid-back communities in Florida, did we get so far off track, so fast?
Would love to know anyone's thoughts on this.
